In the last week or so Bulgarian Customs suspended the operating licence of LukOil, the largest refinery in Bulgaria (Russian owned) for not implementing various changes that had been requested 18 months ago. As a result LukOil more or less stopped production and as they supply the airports here with jetfuel there was talk of planes being grounded and a fuel crisis. However, the Bulgarian government released supplies from the fuel reserves to keep Burgas and Varna airports operating and now LukOil has been to court and had the suspension lifted so hopefully further problems are averted.
