Hi,
I am just having my house refurbished in Veren, and have another in BD (not refurbed). I hope to be over in June for a couple of months and would like to meet any other Brits in the area. It will be rather strange because I have not spent any long time in Bulgaria, so would be happy to share info, trips around etc. Also would like to know anyone interested in natural history, history, arts, classical music, for sharing when I get over.Looking forward to opera if there is any on when I am there in Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. Have not yet bought furniture and white goods, etc. so info would be very useful. Wish I spoke Bulgarian, but unfortunately not. Tried a couple of CD's but think it is hopeless in my case. How do others get on? Val

I guess we find bi-lingual friends..or hope that body and sign language will do until we grasp a bit...believe me, you're not alone...

Fair few brits around the Chirpan area. And certainly lots of history to explore in the area - you even have your own Thracian tomb that is/was being excavated in Bratya Daskalova! And loads more dotted around the hills if you explore a little. In Stara Zagora you have the neolithic houses, the main Museum, various Roman ruins.....
