Hello everyone. My name is Claire. My husband Pete and I will be leaving the UK on the 26th of January to live permanently in Goritsa near Popovo. Our house is a traditional Bulgarian house, has 2 floors, via an outside wooden staircase and veranda are 4 bedrooms and a shower room. The downstairs is more open plan with an original large stone fireplace. We have just over a quarter of an acre of land. We have had it up dated just a bit, PVC windows, cesspit, shower (wet) room upstairs. Our 2 dogs and 4 cats are coming with us too and I think will love exploring.

Welcome and good luck for the move. Hope you have the wood already for the fire, although believe this year is very warm in Bulgaria anyway. Let us know how the trip goes with the dogs and cats. We travel with 3 dogs and its chaos!

Hi, Thank you. Should be fun with all the pets. As hubby is in the van and I am in the car, we are having 1 dog and 2 cats in each vehicle. Now just trying to figure out the exact route to take as we getting ferry to The Hook of Holland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and driving into Bulgaria via Ruse as that is closest to our village. We have got our wood thank god, we were warned how cold it would be lol. Claire
