Hi there, I own a studio in Bansko and was wondering if anyone can help in providing me with some info regarding rental. I have the studio 14 months and my agent is having problems renting the property. I know last year was poor due to poor snow coverage etc but can anyone direct me to where I can advertise it. Also what would the going rates per week, per night be. It is located 1 km from Lift station in Bansko. Your help would be much appreciated. Donncha Dublin Ireland.

Your problem Donncha is the sheer number of apartments to rent in Bansko. You only need to look on the rental page of mybulgaria forum and there are hundreds. Plus 1km from the lift is quite a distance when you are skiing and walking in ski boots. Is there a shuttle bus? What facilities does it have? To compete with cheap package deals you will need to keep prices down. See what others are charging. I have an agreement with 'LetsGoBulgaria' for advertising at a reduced rate if you are interested.

Hi Donncha, Rachel is correct. With such an oversupply of accommodation on Bansko, it is vital that your property stands out from the crowd. Turn the fact that your property is 1km from the town into a positive. i.e. promote that the property is secluded or away from the hustle and bustle of the town but less than a 15 minutes walk away from the Gondola. Not everyone wants to be close to bars and clubs etc. Going rates fluctuate massively. My advice is to place your pricing midway between the cheapest and most expensive similar size, location property. Then tweak as necessary depending on the amount of enquiries you receive. One tip is to drop your rates during a summer month to say £99 for a week. Too cheap you may think, but this price will draw potential holiday makers in to view your advert on rental websites as they usually display your cheapest weekly rate in the search results. To answer your query regarding where to advertise your property, please check out our website www.bulgariasunandski.com. We can’t guarantee you bookings, but our service is free. So you have nothing to lose.

Donncha
You could try advertising on Holdiaylettings they gave us a few bookings in the first year
I reckon the going rate would be 15 to 20 Euros per night
