If you have not submitted your tax form for your Bulgarian company for the last tax year (2008) you face heavy fines. The deadline for filing the annual return was 31st March 2009. If a company fails to file the tax return by 31st March then the company’s director(s) has to go to the tax office in person and sign 3 penalty acts for up to 500 leva each. At the same time the director can file the accounts and write an explanation as to why he/she has delayed and sometimes the tax office just issues a warning without a fine. If you are lucky.
Under the new rules every re-registered company or these registered after 01.01.2008 have to prepare and submit an annual financial report at the commercial register. The deadline for doing this is the 30th June. Failure to do so can result in further fines of up to 5000 levs. However, warnings may just be given.
If you have not filed your company's tax return you really do need to make contact with an accountant to get this sorted.
