since i know that there are relavent posts on several other forums, maybe you have already seen this. if not, then i hope you will find the following useful:
i hope that, for members of AA, and for anyone else out there who feels that they, personally, or a family member or friend is experiencing problems related to alcohol, this might be of use.
after a lot of effort, Jacqui can announce that regular AA meetings are now taking place in the sliven/yambol area.
the meetings are english speaking, and run on UK lines. they take place on TUESDAYS at 1.00pm in the village of CHOKOBA, which lies about 4 miles west of krushare, a village on the main road between Yambol and Sliven.
should anyone need further information, please contact Jacqui
by email - rockerbillyjacqui @ hotmail.com or phone on: 08845 925 47
all enquiries are welcome, and will be completely confidential.
i believe this may be the only english speaking meeting in BG at the moment, so i hope that it may be of use.
in the meantime, best wishes to one and all, and keep the faith.

for everyone out there, here's an update: i'd just like to say that the tuesday, Chokoba meetings of AA, now listed as the only english speaking meeting of AA in bulgaria, are going very well for those of us lucky enough to have found AA. we are fortunate, and are now able to enjoy what can only be described as 'a new life'. however, the cheapness and the availability of alcohol here in bulgaria make it an extremely dangerous place for those who are not aware of the pitfalls that, for some, come with excessive alcohol use, and the misery and destruction it can leave in it's wake. i'm sure i'm not alone in hearing the horror stories of brits intent on suicide by rakia. any road up, a month or two ago, an 'open' meeting of AA was held in Chokoba. i know it's only a personal opinion, but i thought it was great. about 8 'non-alcoholics' attended, and a lot of good information was passed around. OK, be under no illusions - it's an illness which kills hundreds of thousands of people, old and young, rich and poor, around the world every year, yet the average person knows SOOOO little about it. i'm writing this, therefore, to let anyone who may be interested to hear about it from the 'experts', either for themselves or for someone they may know or care for, that on TUESDAY 25th AUGUST, THE 1.00pm, CHOKOBA MEETING OF AA WILL BE AN 'OPEN' MEETING.
ANYONE AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO VISIT ,look forward to seeing you there. baxter. for info, contact in confidence: Jacqui, either by phone on 08845 92547 or email: rockerbillyjacqui@hotmail.com
