If you intend to reside in Bulgaria then you need to apply for your long term residency permit. This gives you permission to reside in Bulgaria for 5 years usually. Unfortunately it is not a proper ID card as has no photo or address so cannot be used as a means of identification.
To get your residency card you need to go to the local police immigration department. You will need your passport, health insurance details (E111 card or new equivalent best as if health insurance only for a year, residency card will only be valid for a year), and proof that you can support yourself in Bulgaria.
This ideally should be a letter from your Bulgarian bank stating you have an active account and some money in account (although no set rules on exact amount - around 1000 E should do).
You may also need a copy of your company documents and copy of your notary deeds to show where you are living.
Cost is only 5 levs and should be ready in a couple of hours.
