I received the following email from a contact that had just returned from Bansko and he gave me permission to publish his ordeal on forums:
Hi Rachel
Been Bansko surfing after a week’s holiday there & came across your page on your experiences.
It was the worst holiday of our lives, not only from the over development, overcrowding, poor service, queues and pollution but the experience of renting 2 apartments from Bulgarian Dreams. When we arrived at the block (Cedar Lodge 3) at night in sub-zero temperatures, it was clearly still under construction, there was water over many floors from the heating system AND there was no heating or hot water. After we & several other poor clients screamed & kicked up a fuss they finally found us alternative accommodation the next day in an adjacent block. The replacement apartments were not exactly in a perfect state but they had some heating (for some hours of the day & night), it transpired however that they were privately owned and we were told not to make a mess in case the owners found out.
Having read several blogs about allowing the town to catch up with the development, I don’t believe it will happen; it is Benidorm 1960 all over again.
We have made a formal complaint to BD but, in case you still contribute to forums on this company, you may want to pass on our experience.
Regards
